Driver charged for fatal DWI rollover crash in Jennings

JENNINGS, MO – Authorities have charged a man for a deadly rollover crash that happened near Jennings Station Rd and Jennings Xing on Tuesday, according to FOX 2 Now.

A 23-year-old man was driving erratically in a Chevy Sonic after midnight when officers attempted to pull him over. The driver sped off and led officers on a chase.

The driver ran a red light at Jennings Station Rd and W Florissant Rd, and officers terminated their pursuit. Moments later, the car crashed and rolled over.

The driver exited the vehicle. Emergency crews extricated two passengers from the car.

Rescue crews transported one person to an area hospital, where they died. Officials have not released their name.

The driver and other passenger were not hurt in the collision.

Following the collision, the driver told officers he had drunk several alcoholic beverages before driving.

Authorities charged the driver with DWI-death of another and resisting arrest by fleeing.
