IL: 2 hospitalized following wreck near Cahokia intersection

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, IL – Two people suffered injuries due to a two-vehicle collision Monday morning on Falling Springs Road in Cahokia, according to KSDK.

Illinois State Police said the accident took place near the intersection with Camp Jackson Road, at about 7:00 a.m.

An early investigation found that a 33-year-old St. Louis resident was behind the wheel of a Ford F150 pickup truck when they failed to stop at a red light. Moments later, the Ford struck a Dodge Journey driven by a 32-year-old woman, also of St. Louis. The impact then caused the F150 to strike a traffic signal and roll over.

First responders had both drivers rush to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.

The ISP continues to investigate.
