COLLINSVILLE, ILL – Illinois State Police were called to a fatal collision between a semi-truck and a pickup truck in Madison County early Sunday morning, KSDK reports.
The wreck took place on northbound Interstate 55 near Collinsville, where the vehicles collided at about 3:01 a.m. Both trucks caught fire as a result.
The driver of the pickup truck was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi driver was taken to an area hospital but the person’s condition was not disclosed.
There was no immediate word on what led to the incident.
