IL: Crews Extricate Juvenile Driver Following Car Wreck in Dix

KELL, IL – Rescue crews responded to the scene of an accident in Dix last week that injured a juvenile driver, according to WJBD.

The single-vehicle crash took place June 23 on Miller Lake Lane near Canton Road shortly before 4 p.m. Authorities said a juvenile driver lost control of their vehicle after hitting a rough and rocky portion of the roadway, causing the car to roll and then land upright.

Firemen with the Kell Fire Department had to remove the driver’s door and roof to extricate the driver, who was then flown by helicopter to a hospital in St. Louis. There was no immediate word on the driver’s condition. A juvenile passenger was not injured.
