HARTFORD, IL – According to FOX 2 Now, a driver fatally collided with an elderly man on IL 3 NB near Piasa Ln on Monday.
A 70-year-old man was collecting aluminum cans in the roadway when a driver hit him after midnight. The victim died from blunt head and chest injuries.
Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The incident is under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Hartford Police Department.
