BELLEVILLE, IL – According to First Alert 4, a hit-and-run driver struck and killed a woman on South Greenmount Road near Illinois 15 on August 22.
A person hit a 33-year-old woman sometime on Thursday morning.
First responders transported the victim to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities arrested a suspect on Thursday afternoon. They released the suspect pending further investigation.
Officials have not released the names of the victim or suspect.
