KC: 1 dead, 1 left hurt following crash on Jefferson Rd in Grain Valley

JACKSON COUNTY, MO – A two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon in Grain Valley claimed the life of a young man and left another injured, reports FOX4KC.

The accident unfolded on a span of Jefferson Road at Pamela Boulevard, prompting a response from Missouri Highway State Patrol troopers some time after 4:15 p.m.

According to the MSHP report, a 20-year-old Grain Valley man was operating a Chrysler when the vehicle ran off the roadway. After overcorrecting, the Chrysler re-entered the roadway, crossed the center line, and then collided with a Ford driven by a 29-year-old man from Holt.

The Grain Valley man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Holt man, who suffered injuries deemed “moderate,” was transported to Centerpoint Hospital.

Officials noted that the Grain Valley man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck, and the Holt man was not.
