KC: 1 left critically hurt after car-splitting crash SE in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – One person was hospitalized with critical injuries last Tuesday afternoon, April 9, in southeast Kansas City when their car struck a tree and split in half, reports FOX4KC.

The accident happened in the 8300 block of eastbound Blue Parkway Drive, a few blocks from 63rd Street.

According to investigators, a black Chevrolet Camaro was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when its driver lost control of the car, causing it to collide with a tree. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to break into two.

One person was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, confirmed the Kansas City Police Department.

No other vehicles appear to have been involved, and no other information was immediately disclosed.
