KC: 1 sent to hospital after collision on I-470 EB in Lee’s Summit

JACKSON COUNTY, MO — A 62-year-old man was sent to a hospital Sunday evening following a crash on Interstate 470 in northeast Lee’s Summit, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on the westbound lanes west of Colbern Road and was first reported at 5:10 p.m.

Preliminary details indicate a 55-year-old Chesterfield resident was driving a 2019 Toyota Avalon when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Shortly after, the Toyota hit a 2000 Ford Ranger driven by the victim, a Lee’s Summit resident.

EMS personnel had the Lee’s Summit man transported to Centerpoint Hospital for injuries considered minor.

No information regarding possible charges has been made available at this time.
