KC: 2 airlifted following motorcycle crash on MO-10 in Carroll County

CARROLL COUNTY, MO – A man and a woman were seriously injured as a result of a motorcycle wreck involving a deer Tuesday night near northeast Norborne, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on the westbound lanes of State Highway 10, west of County Road 177. It was first reported shortly before 9:00 p.m.

A preliminary investigation shows a 38-year-old Wellington man was operating a 2018 Harley Davidson Electra Glide westbound when the bike collided with a deer in the roadway. The impact caused both the male operator and his passenger, a 35-year-old woman from De Soto, Kansas, to eject. The bike then proceeded to run off the left side of the roadway.

Both victims were transported by LifeFlight Eagle to Truman Medical Center for injuries described as serious.

The Harley Davidson, which sustained extensive damage, had to be towed from the scene.

At this time, officials have not indicated whether any charges or citations are anticipated.
