KC: 2 dead, 2 injured in wrong-way crash on MLK Blvd

KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people are dead and another two are injured after a wrong-way driver slammed into an oncoming vehicle on Martin Luther King Boulevard near Bellaire Avenue early on Monday.

Fox4 reports that the accident occurred at about 1:35 a.m. on February 12, when a Chevrolet Malibu heading east on MLK crossed the center line and collided with the passenger side of a westbound Chevrolet Trax. The crash sent the Malibu caroming off the roadway and into a utility pole.

Neither the driver nor the passenger in the Malibu were wearing seatbelts at the time. Emergency responders rushed them to an area hospital, where they died.

The driver and the passenger of the Trax were also transported to a hospital, where they were in stable condition as of later that morning.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
