KC: Authorities respond to school bus vs car crash near Liberty

CLAY COUNTY, MO — A number of students were evaluated by medical personnel Monday morning after a car collided with a school bus near a Missouri Highway 152 exit ramp to Liberty, according to KCTV5.

The accident unfolded at the bottom of the ramp to Indiana Avenue and was first reported at around 8:00 a.m.

A spokesperson with North Kansas City Schools said a car that was leaving the highway failed to stop at a red light and subsequently collided with a school bus. The impact forced the bus to enter the median, but officials confirmed the bus driver and all student passengers were not injured beyond small bumps and bruises.

First responders had all the student passengers medically cleared before the patients were transported to Gateway 6th Grade through another bus.

An investigation by the Kansas City Police Department was underway.
