KANSAS CITY, MO – Police are trying to track down the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run collision in Kansas City on Wednesday night, according to Fox4KC.
Officers responded to the intersection of Hardesty Avenue and Independence Avenue after the incident was reported at about 9 p.m. An initial investigation indicated that a bicycle rider was going east on Independence Avenue when he changed lanes at the intersection and entered the westbound lane. He was then struck head-on by a white pickup truck going west on Independence Avenue.
The bicyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup truck driver left the scene without stopping to help, police said.
