KC: Car crashes into embankment off Lafayette County intersection

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MO — A 57-year-old woman suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning due to a single-vehicle accident off Weaver School Road in Odessa, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Officials said the wreck took place at the intersection with Begemann Road, east of Highway M and southeast of Kansas City, at about 6:05 a.m.

The MSHP crash report indicated that the woman, a local resident, was driving a 2013 Ford Escape northbound during foggy weather conditions when she failed to negotiate the intersection. Shortly after, the Ford Escape ran off the roadway and collided with an embankment.

While the female driver sustained minor injuries, she was ultimately able to drive away from the scene.

The Ford, which received moderate damage in the accident, had to be towed from the site.
