KC: Driver hospitalized after rollover crash on I-70 in Lafayette County

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MO — A 29-year-old Columbia resident was injured Wednesday morning due to a single-vehicle rollover crash off Interstate 70 near Bates City, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The collision unfolded on the westbound lanes at mile marker 32.4, near McDaniel Road, and was first reported shortly before 7:30 a.m.

According to officials, the victim was operating a 2008 Hyundai Accent westbound when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway, hit an embankment, and rolled over.

SNI Valley EMS personnel transported the male driver to Centerpoint Medical Center for injuries deemed moderate.

No other occupants appear to have been involved.

At this time, it remains unclear what caused the accident.
