KC: Driver hurt in rollover crash off I-29 near Kansas City International Airport

PLATTE COUNTY, MO – A single-vehicle rollover crash late Wednesday morning near northwest Kansas City left a 51-year-old man injured, reports the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The incident took place on the southbound lanes approaching Mexico City Avenue (mile marker 16.6), just north of Kansas City International Airport. It was first reported shortly before 11:53 a.m.

According to the MSHP, the man, of Atchison, Kansas, was operating a 2017 Subaru Forester southbound when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway. Moments later, the vehicle hit a speed limit sign and re-entered the roadway. It then traveled off the right side of the roadway again before rolling over and coming to rest on its passenger side.

While the driver suffered minor injuries, the crash report indicates he declined medical treatment at the scene.

The Subaru, which was totaled in the accident, had to be towed from the area.
