JACKSON COUNTY, MO — A 53-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries Monday morning after crashing his car into a median on Interstate 470 near Lee’s Summit, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident unfolded on the eastbound lanes at Exit 71 to Northwest Pryor Road, in an area just southeast of Kansas City. It was first reported at 7:44 a.m.

The MSHP crash report indicates a Blue Springs resident was operating a 2014 Buick LaCrosse when it veered off the left side of the roadway and collided with a median barrier.
