KC: Hit-and-run driver collides with motorcyclist near Valentine

KANSAS CITY, MO – According to FOX 4, a driver struck and seriously injured a motorcyclist before fleeing the scene at SW Trafficway and W 35th St on Friday.

The motorcyclist was stopped at a light around 1:15 a.m. when a speeding Honda Civic driver hit them. The collision threw the motorcyclist from the bike and onto the Civic’s windshield.

The Civic driver headed south with the motorcyclist still on the hood. The driver slammed on the brakes at W 36th St, throwing the motorcyclist onto the street.

Following the collision, the Civic was disabled. The driver exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Rescue crews transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities believe the driver was impaired.
