KC: Motorcyclist dies following fiery crash involving truck at Lee’s Summit intersection

JACKSON COUNTY, MO – A 32-year-old man lost his life Thursday night after his motorcycle collided with a truck on Northeast Todd George Road in Lee’s Summit, according to FOX4KC.

The fatal accident unfolded at the intersection with Northeast Chipman Road. First responders were on the scene shortly after 7:45 p.m.

Officials say the victim, a local resident, was operating a motorcycle southbound on Todd George Road when, for reasons still being investigated, the bike struck a truck that was making a turn from Chipman Road onto northbound Todd George Road.

As a result of the impact, both the motorcycle and the truck caught fire.

Paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to an area hospital, but he later died as a result of his injuries.

While the truck driver was evaluated at the scene, they were not ultimately transported to a hospital.

An investigation remains in progress.
