KC: Passenger ejects in single-vehicle crash near Warrensburg

JOHNSON COUNTY, MO — Two people were injured, one seriously, late Saturday due to a single-vehicle wreck on Marr Drive near Warrensburg, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened near North Maguire Street, southeast of Kansas City. It was first reported at around 11:41 p.m.

According to officials, a 48-year-old was driving a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer northbound when they veered off the roadway, causing the vehicle to collide with a culvert.

Their passenger, a 23-year-old, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected during the impact. She suffered serious injuries and was rushed by EMS personnel to Research Hospital.

The driver sustained minor injuries but declined treatment at the scene.
