INDEPENDENCE, MO – A pregnant woman and her unborn child lost their lives in a multi-vehicle collision in Independence on Saturday, KMBC said.
The incident happened before 8:45 p.m. off East Walnut Street and North Dodgion Street. Police suspect a person driving a Jeep was traveling west on Walnut Street when they lost control of their vehicle and crashed into several parked cars.
A pregnant woman and her unborn child unfortunately died from their injuries, while a small child survived and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The Jeep driver cooperated with police.
A full investigation remains underway.
