WARRENSBURG, MO – A 72-year-old man, a Warrensburg local, had to go to the hospital following a rear-end collision on Highway 13 on Sunday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened before 5:30 p.m. on the highway’s northbound lanes, along Northwest 1050 Road. MSHP said a 52-year-old man, driving a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado, had failed to notice the 2022 Ram 1500 pickup truck in front of him, in a left-turning lane and at a stop light, and crashed into the back of it.
The Ram pickup truck driver, the Warrensburg man, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Johnson County ambulance crews to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.
The 52-year-old male driver, from Higginsville, was uninjured.
MSHP confirmed both male drivers wore seatbelts and were the sole occupants of their vehicles.
