KC: Woman injured in two-vehicle wreck on US-40 near Blue Springs

JACKSON COUNTY, MO – A 63-year-old woman was sent to a hospital late Thursday following a collision on U.S. Highway 40 near Blue Springs, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The collision took place on the eastbound lanes at Bowlin Road, in Sni-A-Bar Township, at 11:23 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that a 22-year-old Independence man was driving a 2011 Chevrolet eastbound when he tried to turn left in the direct path of a 2012 Chevrolet driven by a 63-year-old Blue Springs woman. Moments later, the 2011 Chevrolet struck the passenger side of the 2012 Chevrolet.

The Blue Springs woman was transported to Centerpoint Hospital for minor injuries.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and had to be towed from the crash site.
