KC: Woman sent to hospital after rear-end crash on State Hwy F in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, MO – A 31-year-old woman was hurt as a result of a two-vehicle wreck Tuesday afternoon on State Highway F near Lone Jack, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded to the scene at the intersection with East Grayum Road and Zumalt Road shortly after 3:55 p.m.

Officials say the victim, a Daytona Beach, Florida resident, was driving a 2014 Mercedes C350 northbound on the highway when she slowed down so the vehicle ahead of her could make a left turn. Moments later, a northbound 2001 Dodge Ram driven by a 20-year-old Bates City man struck the back of the Mercedes.

The Florida woman was transported by Lone Jack Fire crews to Western Missouri Medical Center for injuries deemed minor.

The Mercedes sustained extensive damage and had to be towed from the scene, while the Dodge Ram, which received minor damage, was able to be driven from the area.
