MO: 2 injured in crash after SUV fails to yield on MO-11 in Adair County

ADAIR COUNTY, MO – Two people were hospitalized Wednesday morning following a two-vehicle wreck on State Highway 11 near northeast Kirksville, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident unfolded about 5 miles northeast of the city, at around 8:30 a.m.

A preliminary investigation by the MSHP shows that a 26-year-old Kirksville woman was operating a 2015 Toyota Sienna northbound when it was struck by a westbound 2012 GMC Yukon driven by a 40-year-old man, also of Kirksville.

Officials said the collision left the driver of the Toyota and a 29-year-old woman passenger in the GMC with minor injuries. Both patients were taken by ambulance to Northeast Regional.

It was not immediately apparent whether the driver of the GMC is expected to be charged or cited.
