MO: 2 left injured after collision on MO-83 in Hickory County

HICKORY COUNTY, MO – Two drivers were hospitalized Friday morning following a two-vehicle wreck on Missouri State Highway 83 near Quincy, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened about two miles north of the city at around 7:35 a.m.

A preliminary investigation found that a 75-year-old Kansas City man was driving a 2023 Ford Edge eastbound when he failed to stop at a stop sign. Moments after the Ford pulled into the path of a 2017 GMC Acadia, the vehicles collided.

The Kansas City man, who suffered serious injuries, was transported by airlift to Cox Health South in Springfield.

The driver of the GMC a 38-year-old woman from Collins, was transported by ambulance to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Warsaw for injuries described as “moderate.”

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
