MO: 2 left injured after crash on James River Fwy at US-65 in Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, MO — A multi-vehicle accident left two people injured Thursday afternoon on the James River Freeway in southeast Springfield, according to KY3.

Local police said the wreck occurred near the southbound U.S. Highway 60 (James River Freeway) exit at the US-65 interchange. First responders were dispatched to the area some time after 3:30 p.m.

It’s unclear what led up to the event, but preliminary details indicate three vehicles were involved in a collision that caused one car to overturn.

Two people sustained injuries considered non-life-threatening.

At least two travel lanes were shut down for an investigation but the roadway was fully reopened by 4:45 p.m.
