MO: 2 sent to hospital after rear-end crash on MO-41 in Cooper County

COOPER COUNTY, MO – Two drivers were injured Wednesday afternoon as a result of a rear-end collision on State Highway 41 near southwest Boonville, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The wreck unfolded on the eastbound lanes about a 1000 feet east of Chestnut Road, at about 5:10 p.m.

Officials say a 34-year-old Blackwater resident was driving a 1994 GMC Sierra eastbound when they slowed down to make a left turn. A 49-year-old Marshall resident was operating a 2014 Lincoln Navigator eastbound when they failed to see the GMC, causing the Lincoln to strike it in the back.

The MSHP crash report indicates the driver of the GMC was transported by private conveyance to University Hospital in Columbia for minor injuries. The driver of the Lincoln, who also suffered minor injuries, was taken to the same hospital by ambulance.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
