MO: 2 teen passengers injured in crash off MO-13 near Brighton

POLK COUNTY, MO — Two 18-year-olds suffered injuries late Thursday in a single-vehicle crash off State Highway 13 near Brighton, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The collision took place at about 11:30 p.m., on a stretch of northbound MO-13 about two miles south of the city.

Preliminary details indicate a 19-year-old from Springfield, was driving a 2010 Dodge Avenger when it skidded off the highway and hit an embankment.

While the driver was not reported hurt, his passengers, an 18-year-old man and an 18-year-old man, of Saint Roberts and West Plains, respectively, suffered minor injuries. The male occupant was not transported to a hospital from the scene, but the female occupant was taken to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar.

The cause of the wreck was not immediately clear, and no pending charges have been reported.
