MO: Cyclist airlifted to hospital after being hit by SUV on Route C in Cole County

COLE COUNTY, MO – A 50-year-old man was seriously hurt Sunday night when he was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle on Route C near southwest Jefferson City, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The incident unfolded on the westbound lanes of the highway at Vintage Court, at around 9:40 p.m.

An early investigation found that the cyclist, a local resident, was in the roadway when he was struck by the right-front corner of a westbound Buick Enclave that was driven by a 56-year-old woman, also of Jefferson City.

The male cyclist, who suffered serious injuries, was transported by MU Air personnel to University Hospital.
