NEAR CHAMPION, MO – One driver failed to yield, resulting in an injury crash near Champion, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.
MSHP said the incident happened before 5:45 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Missouri Highway FF and County Road 820, about a mile west of Champion.
Troopers said a 40-year-old woman driving a 2024 Ford Ranger pickup truck failed to yield, leading her to collide with a 2013 Hyundai Accent.
The impact of the crash led the Hyundai driver, a 29-year-old man from Canalou, to suffer serious injuries. Medical helicopter personnel airlifted him to St. Louis University Hospital for treatment.
The 40-year-old female driver, also from Canalou, was uninjured.
MSHP confirmed both drivers wore seatbelts and were the sole occupants of their vehicle, but did not specify whether they cited the Canalou woman for failing to yield.
