MO: Driver injured in Bollinger County rollover crash involving animal in roadway

BOLLINGER COUNTY, MO — A 21-year-old woman was sent to the hospital early Monday after her pickup truck hit an animal on State Highway B near north Marble Hill, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on a stretch of the highway about five miles north of the city, at about 5:15 a.m.

Very few details have been made available, but officials say a Puxico resident was driving a 2016 Dodge Ram southbound when the vehicle collided with an unspecified animal. The Dodge then veered off the right side of the roadway, rolled over, and crashed into a tree.

The young woman was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with moderate injuries. Officials noted that she was not wearing a seatbelt.

No other occupants or vehicles appear to have been involved.
