MO: Motorcyclist ejected, airlifted to hospital after crash on US-63 in Maries County

MARIES COUNTY, MO — A motorcycle wreck Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 63 near Vienna left a 53-year-old man seriously injured, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened about two miles south of the city and was first reported at 6:08 a.m.

Preliminary details indicate the victim, a local resident, was operating a 2010 Honda motorcycle southbound on the highway. A 44-year-old of Dixon, was driving a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound when he failed to yield to Briscoe at an intersection. Moments later, the Chevrolet hit the motorcycle, causing the Honda driver to eject from the bike.

First responders had the motorcycle driver flown to University Hospital in Columbia, where he was listed in serious condition.

At this time, the MSHP has not released any information regarding pending charges.
