MO: Passenger left seriously hurt following crash off State Hwy T in Christian County

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, MO – A 48-year-old woman from Clinton, Iowa, was hospitalized with major injuries Thursday morning after a single-vehicle accident off State Highway T near Oldfield, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The collision took place on the westbound lanes about 7 miles east of the city, at around 8:45 a.m.

Preliminary details show a 45-year-old man, also of Clinton, Iowa, was driving a 2006 Buick Rendezvous westbound when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway. Moments later, the vehicle lost control, overcorrected, and then ran off the right side of the highway and into a ditch.

The victim, who was a passenger in the Buick, was rushed by ambulance to Cox South Hospital for serious injuries. Officials noted she was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The MSHP crash report did not indicate any injuries to the driver, but the Buick received moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene.
