MO: Teen driver sent to hospital after car hits tree off MO-72 in Bollinger County

BOLLINGER COUNTY, MO — A single-vehicle collision off State Highway 72 near Fredericktown left an 18-year-old driver injured, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The incident took place at about 6:50 a.m., on a stretch of westbound MO-72 about 10 miles east of the city.

Preliminary details show the young woman, of Perryville, was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic westbound when, for reasons still unclear, the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway. Moments later, the vehicle collided with a tree.

First responders transported the victim by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center with injuries believed to be minor.
