MO: Two-vehicle wreck on US-412 near Cardwell claims 2 lives, leaves 1 seriously hurt

DUNKLIN COUNTY, MO — Two people have died following a collision early Monday evening on U.S. Highway 412 near Cardwell, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident unfolded on a stretch of US-412 about two miles west of the city, prompting an emergency response some time after 5:55 p.m.

An early investigation by the MSHP indicates an Arkansas resident, was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion northbound when she traveled into the path of an eastbound 2018 Ram pickup truck, causing the pickup to strike the Ford.

The woman was pronounced deceased by the Dunklin County Coroner at the scene.

Both the driver of the Ram of Caruthersville, and his passenger, of Steele, were both seriously injured. The driver of the Ram was airlifted to Regional One Health in Memphis while the passenger was transported via ambulance to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould, Arkansas, where he later died.
