MO: Woman hospitalized after collision on US-61 in Scott County

SCOTT COUNTY, MO – A 42-year-old woman was injured Monday morning due to a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 61 in Benton, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened at the intersection with Highway 77 at around 7:45 a.m.

Preliminary details show a 16-year-old Benton resident was driving a 2007 BMW XS eastbound when she pulled into the path of a 2012 Ford Edge driven by the victim, of Scott City.

The Scott City woman was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for minor injuries.

The BMW and the Ford received extensive and total damages, respectively, both requiring towage from the scene.

No charges or citations were immediately reported.
