STL: 1 injured in rear-end collision on I-44 EB near Fenton

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO – A 58-year-old woman from Ballwin was sent to a hospital Tuesday morning following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 44 near Fenton, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident took place on the eastbound lanes before Bowles Avenue (Exit 274), in an area just southwest of St. Louis. It was first reported at 8:20 a.m.

Officials say a 19-year-old St. Louis woman was driving a 2007 Mazda 3 eastbound on the highway when the car hit the back of the victim’s 2012 Acura MDX.

Fenton Fire Protection District crews had the driver of the Acura transported to SSM Health St. Clare Hospital for minor injuries.

No injuries to the other driver or anyone else were reported, but both vehicles received moderate damage in the incident, with the Acura requiring towage from the scene.
