STL: 1 injured in two-vehicle crash on MO-221 near Doe Run

ST FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO — A rear-end collision late Wednesday morning near Doe Run sent a 28-year-old woman to a hospital, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident happened on the southbound lanes of State Highway 221, north of Birch Street, at about 10:51 a.m.

Officials said the victim, of Pilot Knob, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier southbound when she began turning left onto Birch Street. The rear of the Chevrolet was then struck by the front of another unspecified Chevrolet, whose driver was traveling too closely behind the first car.

The crash report shows Brown was transported to Parkland Health Center South via “private conveyance” following the incident.

No information about the other driver has been made available, indicating a potential hit-and-run collision.
