STL: 2 Hurt Following Multi-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 270 in Maryland Heights

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO – Two people were hurt in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 270 near Interstate 70 on Tuesday, according to KSDK.

A 40-year-old man was driving a 2006 Mitsubishi box truck when he slammed into the rear of a 2014 Toyota Highlander operated by a 30-year-old man around 3:50 p.m.

The collision caused the Highlander to crash into a 2014 Chevrolet Volt, pushing the Volt into the back of a 2020 Toyota RAV4. The driver of a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica attempted to avoid the wreck but struck the Volt.

First responders transported the Highlander driver to an area hospital with serious injuries. The box truck driver sustained minor injuries.

Crews shut down the area to process the scene. The area was reopened around 6 p.m.
