STL: 2 injured in collision on Hwy PP near High Ridge

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO – Two people were hospitalized late Sunday afternoon as a result of a two-vehicle wreck on Highway PP near High Ridge, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident unfolded at the intersection with High Ridge Boulevard and was first reported at 4:00 p.m.

Preliminary details show a 25-year-old Eureka man was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra northbound on Highway PP at the same time an 84-year-old woman was operating a 2016 Ford Edge southbound. Officials say the Eureka man was driving in a “careless and impudent manner” and had accelerated as the Ford was turning left onto the eastbound lanes of High Ridge Boulevard, causing the front-end of the GMC to collide with the right-front of the Ford.

A 22-year-old High Ridge man who was a passenger in the GMC was transported by private conveyance to an unspecified hospital for minor injuries.

North Jefferson Ambulance crews transported the driver of the Ford, an 84-year-old woman, to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage as a result of the wreck and had to be towed from the crash site.
