STL: 2 injured in single-car wreck on I-70 near Maryland Heights

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO – Two young adults were hospitalized Friday morning after their vehicle overturned off Interstate 70 near Maryland Heights, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The rollover collision took place on the eastbound lanes of I-70 west of State Highway 141 and was first reported at 6:35 a.m.

Officials said a 21-year-old St. Louis man was driving a 2021 Nissan Rouge eastbound at a rate of speed too fast for the wet roadway conditions at the time. At one point, he failed to maintain control of the car, causing it to run off the south side of the roadway, where it rolled over.

The male driver and his passenger, a 20-year-old man, also of St. Louis, were taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by Pattonville Fire Protection crews for minor injuries. The MSHP crash report noted that neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt.

The Nissan Rouge was totaled in the wreck and had to be towed from the scene.
