STL: 2 sent to hospital after collision on US-67 near Festus

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO — Two people were hurt late Tuesday afternoon due to a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. Highway 67 near Festus, reports the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on the southbound lanes at Wooly Wally Road shortly before 5:00 p.m.

Preliminary details show a 1998 Ford F-150 and a 2010 Ford Escape were both heading southbound on the highway when the F-150 slowed down before a right turn onto Wooly Wally Road. Moments later, the right-front of the Ford Escape hit the left-rear of the F-150.

The drivers of both the Ford F-150 and the Ford Escape, a 45-year-old De Soto woman and a 74-year-old Festus man, respectively, both suffered minor injuries. Joachim Plattin Ambulance crews had the patients transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson.

The vehicles sustained moderate and total damages and required towage from the scene.
