ST. CHARLES, MO – A 42-year-old man from Denver, Colorado, was injured in a heavy-duty truck crash in St. Charles on Thursday.
The collision happened before 3:30 p.m. on Interstate 70 East along Veterans Memorial Parkway. Missouri State Highway Patrol said the incident unfolded when an unknown vehicle merged from the fourth lane into the third lane and directly in front of a 2020 Volvo VNL truck.
The Denver man, who was operating the heavy-duty truck in the third lane, skidded to try to avoid crashing into the unknown vehicle, went off to the side of the road, and crashed into a guardrail.
The male truck driver suffered moderate injuries and was rushed to Barnes Jewish Hospital – St. Peters by St. Charles County Ambulance District.
MSHP said they do not know who the other driver was or what sort of vehicle they were driving, and have not classified the crash as a hit-and-run.
