STL: Driver crashes into fence, utility pole on MO 51 in St Marys Township

ST MARYS TOWNSHIP, MO – A driver crashed into a fence and a utility pole on MO 51 near Pcr 712 on Wednesday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

A 34-year-old man was driving a 2016 Nissan Sentra south on MO 51 when he strayed off the left side of the roadway and went down an embankment around 5:10 p.m. The driver then hit a fence before slamming into a utility pole.

Rescue crews transported the driver and a 38-year-old female passenger to an area hospital. They were not wearing seat belts. A person drove an 8-year-old girl and a 13-year-old girl to an area hospital with minor injuries. The two juveniles were wearing seat belts.
