STL: Driver sent to hospital after car strikes deer on MO-30 near Prairie Township

FRANKLIN COUNTY, MO — A single-vehicle accident involving a deer near Prairie Township Tuesday evening sent a 63-year-old woman to the hospital, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The collision took place on a stretch of Missouri State Highway 30 west of Pierce Creek Road, in an area southwest of St. Louis. It was first reported at around 7:05 p.m.

Officials say a resident of Grubville, was driving a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta westbound when a deer entered the roadway and in the Jetta’s path. Moments later, the Jetta collided with the animal.

First responders had Heintz transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for moderate injuries.

No information regarding the deer was included in the MSHP crash report.
