STL: Driver sent to hospital after rear-end crash on I-270 in west St. Louis

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO — A two-vehicle collision Thursday morning on Interstate 270 in west St. Louis left a 49-year-old Fenton woman injured, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Officials say the woman was operating a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan northbound when she slowed down while approaching traffic congestion ahead. Moments later, the Volkswagen was hit from behind by a 2009 Nissan Murano driven by a 23-year-old Baldwin man.

The driver of the Volkswagen, who suffered minor injuries, was transported by private conveyance to Missouri Baptist Hospital St. Louis.

The driver of the Nissan Murano was not reported hurt. Despite only minor damage to the vehicle, tow crews had to be remove it from the scene.
