STL: Driver sent to hospital after rear-end crash on I-55 near SW St. Louis

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO — A two-vehicle collision Tuesday evening near southwest St. Louis sent a 34-year-old man to the hospital, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The accident unfolded on Interstate 55, north of Reavis Barracks Road, near Concord Township. It was first reported at about 6:00 p.m.

Officials said a 34-year-old local resident was operating a 2012 Dodge Durango southbound when the vehicle was struck from behind by a 2015 Lexus GS driven by a 29-year-old man, also of St. Louis.

Mehlvhile EMS personnel had the driver of the Dodge transported to Mercy Hospital South for injuries considered minor.

The Dodge and the Lexus sustained moderate and extensive damages, respectively. Crews had to tow the Lexus from the scene.
