STL: Man Seriously Injured After Pickup Crashes Into Tree in Washington County

WASHINGTON COUNTY, MO – A motorist was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident in Washington County on Sunday night, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers were called to the crash on Missouri A near Richwood Loops Road after the incident was reported at about 7:55 p.m.

The MSHP reported that the driver of a 2003 Ford F-150 pickup truck was heading westbound when he failed to negotiate a right curve, causing the vehicle to begin sliding. The pickup then crossed the center of the roadway and traveled off the left side of the road, where the vehicle overturned and crashed into a tree.

The driver, a 31-year-old man from Potosi, Missouri, was seriously injured. He was transported by Washington County Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital St. Louis. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, troopers said.
