STL: Speeding driver dies after car crashes into NW St. Louis residence

ST. LOUIS, MO – A 36-year-old man died early Friday following a single-vehicle collision off Plover Avenue in northwest St. Louis, according to KSDK.

St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officials said the fatal wreck occurred at a home in the 5200 block of the road, in the city’s Walnut Park East area.

Preliminary details indicate the victim was driving southbound on Theodore Avenue at a high rate of speed when he appeared to lose control of the vehicle, causing it to run off the roadway and slam into a home.

First responders rushed the male driver to a local hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

No one else was reported hurt in the incident.

An investigation by the police department’s Accident Reconstruction team remains ongoing.
